The Cleanest Kitchens 🏆

It’s not all bad news. 24 inspections came back completely clean — zero violations. Some standouts, ordered by grade:

  • Chipotle (Wesley Chapel) — Grade A · Zero violations
  • Subway (New Port Richey) — Grade B · Zero violations
  • Taco Bell (Land O’ Lakes) — Grade A · Zero violations
  • Jersey Mike’s (Wesley Chapel) — Grade B · Zero violations
  • Sonny’s BBQ (New Port Richey) — Grade C · Zero violations

Proof that it’s absolutely possible to run a kitchen with no violations. Props to these teams.

Most Common Violations

Here’s what inspectors flagged most often across Pasco County in February:

147
No hair restraints — the most common violation by far
102
Improper cold holding temps — food not kept below 41°F
96
Raw meat over ready-to-eat food — cross-contamination risk
84
Missing or inaccurate thermometers — can't monitor what you can't measure
69
Food stored on floor — not properly protected from contamination

Hair restraints and cold holding temps continue to top the list month after month. The hair restraint issue is more of a hygiene standard, but improper cold holding is a genuine food safety risk — bacteria multiply rapidly when cold food rises above 41°F.

What This Means

February’s data paints a mixed picture for Pasco County. While national chains like Chipotle, Subway, and Jersey Mike’s consistently pass clean, some local spots are struggling with basic food safety fundamentals.

The good news? These are fixable problems. Hair nets, thermometer calibration, and proper food storage aren’t expensive — they just require attention and training.
